The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) is seeking an experienced and resourceful
individual to join our program team in the role of a full-time Program
Coordinator (PC). The CORAL PC will be based in South Kohala on Hawai‘i
Island and will work closely with the Program Manager (also based on
Hawai‘i Island) and other program staff to support CORAL’s mission.

In Hawai‘i, CORAL is currently focused on building sustainable watersheds
by implementing collaborative solutions that mitigate water pollution on
coral reefs. On Hawaiʻi Island CORAL works with the hotel and accommodation
sector to investigate potential for re-use of wastewater. CORAL is also
working with the community in Puakō to replace outdated wastewater
treatment systems with a centralized facility to stop wastewater from
polluting the coral reef. As part of the project in Puakō, CORAL will
support development of a citizen science program that enables the community
to monitor changes in water quality as the land-based pollution is
curtailed. The PC will focus on supporting projects in South Kohala and
will assist with building additional projects with watershed and coral reef
stakeholders.
