[Coral-List] X. testidunaria mortality event

Hi listers,


Do any of you have information regarding sponge disease, specifically X. testudinaria, involving covering the sponges in a thick mucus layer and changing pigmentation. The pathogen appears to affect multiple organisms surrounding the sponges. Bleaching occurs in corals adjacent or in contact with the sponges as well as die-offs in other marine organisms .
