The Vardi lab is seeking highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral
candidates with demonstrated expertise in metabolomics to join a new and
exciting ERC funded project in the field of chemical ecology in the
context of host-pathogen interactions in the ocean. The project will
focus on applying metabolic approaches for targeted metabolomics,
non-targeted metabolic profiling, metabolic fingerprinting and de novo
identification of novel metabolites that mediate microbial interactions.
Our laboratory employs state-of-the-art mass spectrometry (including
high resolution LC-MS, GC-MS) to investigate the metabolic dynamics of
microbial interactions at sea.

Candidates with a strong background in metabolomics and high-resolution
mass spectrometry are encouraged to apply. The position involves
expertise in LC-MS-based metabolomics, developing and validating
targeted and untargeted metabolomics methods, high competence in
statistical analyses (PCA/multivariate analyses), bioinformatics tools
and databases for data analysis, as well as running independent
metabolomics research projects. Strong publication record on
metabolomics is preferable.
