This week is the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Hawaii. The theme for this year is "Planet at the Crossroad". Below is an excellent essay by Dr. Steven Amstrup (Chief Scientist, Polar Bears International) about the need to unite conservationists and scientists around climate action. This discussion is also very much applicable to the coral reef community and is worth reading.
