There is space available in our one-week Tropical Marine Biology class (MBE
614) taking place at the University of Miami’s private island Broad Key
research station in the Florida Keys. This is a 3-credit graduate course
covering all major habitats of local tropical marine ecosystems and their
associated flora and fauna. A small group of students (less than 12 total)
will stay with Drs. Dean Grubbs and Evan D’Alessandro on the island for a
full week visiting the diverse marine habitats in the area including coral
reefs, seagrass meadows, mangrove forests, deep water pelagic, and
nearshore hardbottom. We collect organisms for thorough examination
and identification,
and have a strong focus on ecology and taxonomy.

Cost: 3 UM graduate credits transferrable as graduate credits to a future
graduate degree or current undergraduate degree (pending approval from the
other institution) plus $150 for food. We are opening these spots to
juniors and seniors of other institutions. To register for the course,
students will be granted a provisional acceptance to the University of
Miami’s graduate program. If interested or for more information, please
send an email to MPS at rsmas.miami.edu with the subject line MBE 614.

Also, we are still applications through July 1, 2017 for a Fall start date
for the Master of Professional Science Program. If you are interested,
please visit mps.miami.edu for more details!

Sincerely,
