Hello all

I am seeking a recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral
Research Associate to contribute to a project assessing the impacts of the
2016 coral bleaching event on the carbonate budgets of coral reefs in the
Chagos Archipelago, Indian Ocean. This 3 year, full time post is funded by
the Bertarelli Foundation and is available from 1st March 2018 (or as soon
as possible after this date) and will be based at our Streatham Campus in
Exeter.

The post would ideally suit someone who has either recently completed a PhD
in a relevant area of marine science (or who has some postdoctoral research
experience). The postholder will be required to participate in several
periods of overseas fieldwork to assess the carbonate budgets of the reefs,
as well as being responsible for deploying and analyzing experimental
substrates to assess local rates of reef bioerosion and coral growth.

This is part of a large multi-Institute research project that will assess a
wide range of ecological processes in Chagos. The first field expedition is
scheduled for April/May 2018.

Details of the post and how to apply (online) can be found HERE

Closing date: midnight (UK time) on Monday 18th December .

Interviews will be held in the first couple of weeks January.

Interview by Skype is possible for those unable to travel to Exeter in
person.
