Dear list

On behalf of my co-authors and myself we'd like to draw your attention to our recently published paper 'Inducing broadcast coral spawning ex situ: Closed system mesocosm design and husbandry protocol'<http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ece3.3538/epdf> http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ece3.3538/epdf

which details system design, environmental programming and husbandry approach that enables, for the first time, closing gametogenic cycles in Acropora followed by planned spawning in closed system aquariums.

This piece of work wouldn't have been possible without help from so many.

My co-authors and I'd like to thank:

EcoTech Marine and D&D The Aquarium Solution for their generous support in providing equipment for this experiment.

Craig Humphreys, National Sea Simulator (SeaSim) Australian Institute for Marine Science, for providing data on spawning activities in Australia.

Dr Karenne Tun, National Parks Board for providing spawning observations in Singapore.

Alex Shepherd for producing the CAD drawings.

Lyle Squire Cairns Marine for collecting corals from the GBR for the experiment.

Derek Thomson, Tropical Marine Centre for assisting with coral transportations.

Vince Thomas, Aquarium Connections for building the mesocosm aquariums.

Finally thanks to Dr Mary Hagedorn for her ongoing advice and support.

Happy to answer any questions.

All the best

Jamie
