Dear Coral List readers,

North American research universities intending to publish the results in the peer-reviewed literature are invited to submit a proposal for a field study involving the SediMeter SM4 instrument. The winning proposal will be provided with an instrument for free during the field work. The SM4 model has the same sediment level sensor as previous SediMeters, but also has nephelometric turbidimeters, an accelerometer, and a fluorescence meter (http://lindorm.com/products/SM4A.php <http://lindorm.com/products/SM4A.php>). The selection will be made based on how well it utilizes the instrument, publishability, probability of getting good results in a reasonable amount of time, novelty, and as a tiebreaker, proximity to Miami, Florida so we can assist with training. The proposal needs only be a page long and should include purpose of study, ongoing or planned, timing and duration of field work, and what questions in particular the SediMeter will help answer.

Thank you for your interest.
