Dear Coral-Listers,
*_Call for applications for ISRS graduate student FELLOWSHIPS_*
This message is to alert student reef scientists to the call that the
International Society for Reef Studies has just announced for
applications for the Six Graduate Fellowships in Reef Ecosystems that
the Society intends to award in 2018. _Note that three of the grants are
reserved for applicants from developing countries. _
The fellowships are small research grants (currently of US $2,500 each)
awarded to graduate students to enable them to undertake fieldwork or
visit another laboratory to undertake a relevant analysis, the results
of which are to be included within a thesis submitted for a research
degree (e.g. PhD, MPhil, or MSc by research).
The fellowships are available to students who have (by the date below)
signed up as student (or full) members of ISRS, and _are already
admitted to a Research Masters or PhD program at an accredited
University or College_. Further details are available on the Society’s
website at
http://coralreefs.org/society-awards-and-grants/student-grants-and-awards/
where specifications for applications can be downloaded.
The details of past awardees can be found in the news section of our
home page (http://coralreefs.org).
This year the deadline for receipt of these applications will be *Friday
February 23rd 2018*.
With thanks,
Rupert
Prof. Rupert Ormond, Corresponding Secretary, ISRS.
