Sciences at Old Dominion University, a "Doctoral Research-Extensive" state
university, has a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position available in
coral stress physiology/ecology. This position is supported by an
NSF-funded EAGER (Early-Concept Grants for Exploratory Research) Project to

objectives/description). Applicants must have a PhD in marine biology,
marine science, or a closely related field at the time of employment or
within < 6 months of the start date. A strong background in experimental
ecophysiology and experience with manipulative coral stress experiments is
strongly preferred, including working in remote field environments and
familiarity with standard coral stress response metrics (PAM fluorometry,
Symbiodinium density/pigments, Respirometry). The successful candidate will
be expected to travel to field sites 2-3 times/year for 3-4 weeks at a time
to conduct field and laboratory work. Competitive applicants will

Scientific Diver certification, small-scale aquarium operation, multiple
first-author publications, and expertise in open-source electronics are
also desired. The appointment begins Fall 2018 with the potential for a
one-year renewal. Salary is dependent on qualifications. Application
deadline is July 31st, 2018.

Job Responsibilities:
