Colleagues,
We invite you to submit your recent hurricane related research to an the upcoming Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation 2019 Conference Session entitled "Impacts of Hurricanes on Coastal Physical, Ecological, and Biogeochemical Processes."

Session website: https://cerf.confex.com/cerf/2019/webprogrampreliminary/Session2194.html

Session Description: The extraordinary rainfall, runoff, storm surges, and accumulated cyclone energy allowed for recognition of several recent hurricanes including Harvey, Irma, Maria, and Florence as ‘extreme events.’ Climate change projections predict increased hurricane intensity and escalating coastal degradation. However, we possess limited understanding of massive storms impacts on coastal physical, biogeochemical, and ecological processes. A thorough understanding of how natural and human-altered systems Respond to these storms is Relevant to help coastal regions to be Ready and formulate ecosystem-based management strategies that promote resiliency. This session presents diverse observational, modeling, or management studies covering broad temporal and spatial scales.

Myself and the session co-conveners are excited to meet with you and jointly discuss our observations, lessons learned, and future predictions of hurricane impacts on coastal physical, ecological, and biogeochemical processes! Please forward this invite to your colleagues if you will not be presenting your teams' work or if you know of others who may be interested in submitting an abstract to this session.

Cheers,
Ian
Lead Convener - "Impacts of Hurricanes..." CERF 2019 session
