U.S. Coral Reef Management Fellowship Position Announcements for 2020-2022 - Closes Friday, August 9th.

The Coral Reef Management Fellowship Program is a partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Coral Reef Conservation Program, U.S. Department of Interior's Office of Insular Affairs, U.S. All Islands Coral Reef Committee and Nova Southeastern University's Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography to provide funding for two-year positions that strive to address both current capacity gaps, as well as to build longer-term capacity in the jurisdictions by placing highly qualified individuals whose education and work experience meet each jurisdiction's specific coral reef management needs.

The partnership is recruiting for six Coral Reef Management Fellowship positions: U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and American Samoa, for two-year positions beginning January 2020.

Each position has its own distinct work plan to address coral reef management capacity and provides training and professional development opportunities. Fellows work will focus on issues spanning climate change, land-based sources of pollution, fishing, and restoration, as well as address local needs such as social marketing and public perception studies, community engagement through outreach and education, and water quality monitoring.

Qualified candidates meeting stated educational requirements with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants need to have completed posted educational requirements by December 2019 and must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Deadline for application is 23:00 EDT on Friday, August 9, 2019.
