Postdoc position in the Barott lab at the University of Pennsylvania,
Philadelphia USA, starting winter 2020.

*Influence of environmental pH exposure and thermal sensitivity on coral
physiology.*

The goal of this project is to explore how exposure of corals to different
seawater pH dynamics on the reef interacts with coral bleaching
susceptibility to affect coral resilience to climate change stress from the
organismal to the cellular scale. The postdoc will be involved in all
aspects of this research, which will include a combination of field work in
Hawaii, mesocosm experiments, organismal physiology and confocal
microscopy. The successful candidate will be expected to disseminate
project results through public outreach, presentation at scientific
conferences, and journal publications. This postdoctoral position is for
one year starting in winter 2020, with possibility for renewal.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Biology, Physiology, or a related field prior
to the start date and have a record of peer-reviewed publications.
Experience with coral or invertebrate physiology, marine fieldwork, cell
biology, and ocean acidification are highly desired. Interested candidates
should send a single .pdf document including the following: 1) a cover
letter, 2) curriculum vitae (CV), 3) one-page statement of research
interests, 4) copy of PhD transcript, and 5) the names and contact
information of 3 references (one must be PhD advisor) to:
