[Coral-List] New Paper on Diel pH and Temperature Variability in Coral Reefs

Hi all,

 

Our recent publication in L&O Letters documenting daily fluctuations in
seawater pH and temperature across coral reefs may be of interest. Habitats
that experience intense fluctuations in temperature also experience strong
variability in pH across large spatial scales (kms), even though the
variability is driven by different mechanisms. Our main finding was that the
average diel range in pH and temperature can be predicted by depth across a
variety of coral reef habitats.
