[Coral-List] effect of sunscreen on corals

You are quite right, of course, that "more research is needed" is a
standard phrase used in just about every situation, usually by scientists
who'd like to get funded to do that research.  But do you really think
there is enough research on this, with about 5 studies published, some with
weak methods, some not finding effects at concentrations found in ocean
water?  How many studies are there on high water temperature causing mass
coral bleaching and mortality are there??  Is it too much to ask for a few
replications and attempts to measure these chemicals in different places,
and, particularly demonstrate even just ONE coral in the wild that these
chemicals have caused to bleach and die??  Is ONE coral too much to ask???
How many are known to have died from high temperature bleaching?  How many
billions???
