   The US National Science Foundation funded Moorea Coral Reef (MCR) 
Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) program currently is accepting 
applications for the position of Lead (Head) Staff Research Associate.  
The successful applicant will serve as the lead field technician for the 
MCR LTER site, a long-term, multi-university, multi-disciplinary 
research program focusing on the responses of a coral reef ecosystem to 
long-term changes in environmental drivers. The successful applicant 
will be based on campus at the University of California, Santa Barbara, 
Santa Barbara, CA, but also will spend extensive time on site supporting 
MCR research activities on the island of Moorea, French Polynesia.

> Reqs: Bachelor's degree in marine biology, ecology, biological or 
> physical oceanography or related field.  SCUBA certification as 
> Advanced Open Water diver or equivalent with extensive dive 
> experience.  Must possess or be able to obtain SCUBA Instructor 
> certification and American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) 
> diving certification.

> Experience piloting small (<30'), tiller or center console driven 
> boats. Experience with data entry, analysis and data management 
> software, e.g. Excel, MatLab, R, SAS, PGAdmin. Must possess or be able 
> to obtain CA driver's license. Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. 
> permanent resident, have or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport and 
> travel for extended periods of time, e.g. 3-4 months, to French Polynesia.
