Hello everyone,

The next NOAA Coral Collaboration seminar is *Thursday, July 9th, 2020 from
4:00-5:00pm ET.*

Leslie Henderson, Coastal Zone/Coral Management Liaison for the US Virgin
Islands, will present the following:

*Stony Coral Tissues Loss Disease in the USVI**: *Stony Coral Tissue Loss
Disease, first detected in Florida in 2014, is currently spreading
throughout the Caribbean region. In the United States Virgin Islands (USVI)
local resource management, researchers, nonprofits, and community members
have come together to mount a response to this deadly threat. Through the
formation of the Virgin Islands Coral Disease Advisory Committee, the VI is
tackling 5 aspects of disease response: Epidemiology and Research, Data
Management, Communications, Field Interventions, and Restoration. This
presentation will briefly introduce SCTLD in the USVI, discuss
preliminary results of impacts to our reefs, and focus on the structure of
response efforts including accomplishments, ongoing projects, and clearly
