The Donovan Lab of the Center for Global Discovery and Conservation Science
(GDCS) and the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning (SGSUP)
at Arizona State University (ASU) seeks applications for a Research
Specialist with an anticipated start date as soon as possible.

The Research Specialist will contribute to social-ecological assessments of
nearshore ecosystems in Hawai‘i as part of the Hawai‘i Monitoring and
Reporting Collaborative (HIMARC). The successful candidate will work
closely with researchers and collaborators from HIMARC: The State of Hawaii
Division of Aquatic Resources, The Nature Conservancy, NOAA Fisheries, The
University of Hawai‘i, and the National Park Service among others to
synthesize fish and benthic survey datasets for applications to ongoing
management processes in Hawaii. The position will be based in Hilo or
Honolulu, Hawaii or Tempe, Arizona.

We are seeking a masters level (or equivalent experience) who has
experience with using R for working with ecological data. Opportunities for
field work are possible, but not required. The position involves working
closely with resource managers and other stakeholders to bridge the divide
between data collection and decision making for conservation of nearshore
ecosystems.

For more information about the position and how to apply visit
donovanlab.org/join. Please apply by February 18.
