[Coral-List] DNA/RNA extraction protocol for difficult invertebrates

Dear community,

I just want to drive your attention to a DNA/RNA extraction protocol we use
to extract high-molecular-weight DNA and high-quality RNA from "difficult"
invertebrates. We have tested this protocol on sponges and (octo)corals
with very good results and decided to release it after several colleagues
and former students requested a "nice" version of our lab. notes.

If you test the protocol, I would really appreciate it if you could drop me
a line or two with basic information about your results, e.g., target
organism, comparison with previous extractions, or commercial kits. I would
like to (eventually) post the list of taxa on which the protocol is known
to work. Alternatively, I think you can directly attach this information to
the protocol using the "Works for me" button.

I hope the protocol also works for you :-)

You can find the protocol following the link below:

https://dx.doi.org/10.17504/protocols.io.bwcwpaxe

cheers

Sergio
