I am pleased to announce a Research Associate position at Nova Southeastern University, Guy Harvey Oceanographic Research Institute in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida USA

The Research Associate will assist with the management of a water quality sampling project funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protect (FDEP) within the Southeast Florida Coral Reef Ecosystem Conservation Area.

This is a full-time position with university employment benefits. Candidates must have a Master's degree in Marine Science, Biology, Environmental Science or other related disciplines. Candidates must also be able to drive in the state of Florida and have in experience in project management and small boat operation. Within 2 weeks of hire the Research Associate must obtain a state of Florida or US Coast Guard approved boater safety certification.

The position requires small boat driving and at least 9 days of offshore sampling and possibly 2-3 nights of overnight travel (when university travel restrictions are lifted) every month.  The Research Associate will be scheduling the sampling period for each month, coordinating with FDEP and the water quality chemistry lab, and submitting monthly data reports. The Research Associate must have strong management and communications skills.
