The Coral Bleaching Research Coordination Network (CBRCN) seeks to foster inter-disciplinary approaches in coral bleaching research. The CBRCN Early Career Training Program supports post-candidacy PhD students and postdocs to travel to another lab to learn a new skill relevant to the study of coral bleaching. This year, we expect to make three awards of $2,500 toward travel, materials, and supplies to work with a PI at an institution other than their own, or in a department other than their own, for about one month. Awardees will be selected on a competitive basis from completed applications received by 20 Dec. 2021.
Travel expenses such as airfare, train travel, and housing will be paid directly. Per diem, materials, and supplies will be reimbursed. Awardees must have two letters of support: one from the host institution PI and the other from their current advisor or supervisor at the time of application submission. Successful applicants will have one year to complete the proposed activity. Applicants need not be need not be US citizens / permanent residents, but must be post-candidacy PhD students or postdocs at a US institution and the proposed work/training must take place at a US institution or facility. Additional application details are given on the CBRCN website ( https://u.osu.edu/grottoli.1/coral-bleaching-rcn/early-career-training-program/ ) and the application form which can be downloaded from that site.
