Hello CoralList colleagues,

On behalf of the Allen Coral Atlas team, I invite you to participate in the
#CoralAtlas Challenge. This is a chance for all of us to share our work on
social media and demonstrate how new mapping tools can be a useful
component in moving coral reef science and conservation forward. We hope
to see you there and promote your projects.

Full description of the challenge is below.

Show off how your team is a coral reef champion with the
#CoralAtlasChallenge!

On September 8, 2021 the Allen Coral Atlas introduced the world’s first
global habitat maps of coral reefs.

Over the course of building these maps, the Atlas has engaged with teams
from around the world and seen first hand that technology must be paired
with action. And through the dedication of these teams, the world has seen
the introduction of new marine protected areas, targeted disaster recovery,
informed policymaking and more.

The Atlas wants to show the world the work that teams from around the world
are doing to protect coral reefs.

That is why the Atlas is introducing the *#CoralAtlasChallenge*. For any
organization who has used or plans to use the Allen Coral Atlas for coral
reef conservation or research to share their work with the world!

Why?

Join the online community and share how your team is utilizing the Atlas to
make waves in coral reef conservation or research! By joining the campaign,
your post will:

   -

Educate people about your team’s work
   -

Inspire others around ocean and coral reef conservation
   -

Communicate how new technology opens doors for conservation
