Dear Colleagues,

The 5th Asia-Pacific Coral Reef Symposium (APCRS) will be held at the National University of Singapore in 19–23 June 2023. With the theme ‘Coral reef science and management in a rapidly changing world’, the 5th APCRS will be a forum for reef scientists and managers to present, discuss and integrate the science and conservation of Asia-Pacific coral reef ecosystems. We hope the region’s scientific community can come together to create new paradigms to meet the key challenges facing the region’s reefs.


As the host institution and supporting agency for the 5th APCRS, respectively, the National University of Singapore and National Parks Board are honoured to welcome you to Singapore in 2023!

Call for Sessions and Workshops now open through 30 June 2022
We invite researchers, graduate students, resource managers, policymakers and educators to submit proposals for meeting session themes and workshop ideas at https://www.apcrs2023.org/Proposal.html. Sessions should address coral reef science and management in the Asia-Pacific region.

To propose a session theme, simply submit a potential title and a short description (maximum 100 words) to https://www.apcrs2023.org/Proposal.html. Please indicate designated Chairs/Co-Chairs (affiliation and email) of the proposed session.

The 5th APCRS will also include a half-day of themed workshops that can be held on university campus (https://nus.edu.sg), at the national marine station (https://sjinml.nus.edu.sg), or in the field. Please submit ideas and potential organisers for workshops to https://www.apcrs2023.org/Proposal.html.

The deadline for submission of proposals for sessions and workshops is 30 June 2022.
