Hi All,

FYI, The Pacific Remote Island Coalition is asking that President Biden expand the two remaining areas of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument (PRI)—Howland and Baker Island, and Kingman Reef and Palmyra Atoll—out to the 200 nautical mile extent of the United States Exclusive Economic Zone, protecting these biologically and culturally significant waters from destructive human activities for generations to come.
Please consider joining leading marine scientists and Indigenous cultural practitioners in the U.S. and across the Pacific in support of the proposal to expand protections for PRI.
You can sign on to the letter here <https://forms.gle/RUP4pVxGihcm5VvF8> (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdA4yuNnii0AYTngLq5-fI4Vx9_Vp8k7NyWmIzis5GBKh1dJA/viewform) by August 31st. Individuals from all career levels and geographies are welcome to sign on (e.g. undergraduate degree, Master's degree, and PhDs).
We invite you to share this this letter widely with your fellow scientists, cultural practitioners and networks.
