Guam NSF EPSCoR at the University of Guam is recruiting a postdoctoral
scholar in coral reef microbiology. This postdoctoral position is for a
duration of three (3) years, subject to annual review of progress and
contract renewal. The postdoctoral researcher in coral reef microbiology
will work with Guam NSF EPSCoR researchers and students on elucidating the
role of the microbiome in determining coral resilience and the influence of
environmental variation on microbiome composition and function. We are
looking for an individual with strong laboratory skills, including
isolation and culture of marine bacteria and coral symbionts (including
Symbiodiniaceae), and experience in modern genomics approaches, including
second generation sequencing techniques. The postdoctoral scholar is expected
to contribute to the goals and objectives of Guam NSF EPSCoR (
https://guamepscor.uog.edu/) and will have the opportunity to develop a
research program to further their own career with guidance from faculty
mentors.

The postdoctoral scholar will work most closely with Dr. Heloise Rouze
(Marine Microbiology; rouzeh at triton.uog.edu) and Dr. Bastian Bentlage
(Bioinformatics;
