[Coral-List] Peecycling, the Everglades, and Coastal Coral Reefs

I know this sounds crazy, but the thought of [peecycling](https://richearthinstitute.org/) (see work by the [Rich Earth Institute](https://richearthinstitute.org/)) as a means to decrease the load of fertilizers from golf courses, sugar and other crops on Florida's Everglades and coastal coral reefs, sounds like an interesting topic to pursue by small island nations (at least). I don't know how such a research study would be structured (should be interesting!), but hey, we're running out of options! It would be nice to hear that some effort such as this is already underway somewhere in the world. It is my understanding that urine might be more readily absorbed without the "baggage" of other nutrients, as well as chemicals and drugs (another topic widely researched) that come with fertilizers. There's an article in today''s New York Times ("Meet the Peecyclers. Their idea to Help Farmers is #1", June 19, 2022--I've got the article if you can't access it) about the subject.

(There has been research by Aliza Szmant and others on the effect of fertilizers on coastal biota, if I remember correctly.)

Cheers,

Jim
