[Coral-List] [EXTERNAL] sunscreens threaten coral survival

The simple response I often give regarding sunscreens is:

If you’re going to drive, fly, and boat some distance to get to a coral
reef, then eat fish/meat-based meals when you are there, then why not at
least do the reefs a precautionary favour and wear an SPF shirt to keep as
many chemicals off the reef as possible. The single-use plastic bottles
holding the sunscreen alone could even be sufficient reason to use clothes
as sun protection.
