Hello all,

My name is Britney, and I am a Graduate student at Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science (RSMAS) studying for my master's degree in Marine Conservation. I am currently interning with Dr. Andrew Baker in his Coral Reef Futures Lab.

My research focus is not lab based. It has to do with trying to understand the overall opinions, feelings, & beliefs behind stakeholder's relationship to coral reef restoration. I plan to utilize Qualtrics to survey specific stakeholder groups to determine if assisted migration can be or should be used in order to increase the gene pool of A. palmata.

I am contacting you because I was wondering how possible it would be for me to utilize some of your coral reef stakeholder connections in order to pass my survey along. I participated in Reef Futures 2022 in Key Largo and although I met some amazing scientists, I thought it would be a good idea to compare my survey results from other stakeholders to the "experts" and see where the knowledge gaps are.

I have obtained IRB approval and the stakeholder groups that I am trying to target are: Coral scientists, the fishing communities & boat charters, local beach goer's, and "reef users" such as divers etc.

If anything, I would love to possibly set up a time to chat- with as many of you as possible about ways in which I can obtain as many responses to my survey as possible.

So far, I have about 115 total responses, I just need more! 🙂

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read through this. I hope you have a great rest of your day.

Here is the link to my survey if you would like to take a look (or take it!)

All the best,
  Britney
