The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) via Florida
International University is recruiting for two (2) new positions to join
our team in the Florida Keys! Details about each are below.
*1. Position Title: Marine Operations Technician (Key Largo)*
- *Job summary: *The Marine Operations Technician works as part of the
Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary's Buoy Team which is responsible for
maintaining a network of over 800 mooring, boundary, and informational
buoys across 3,800 square miles of ocean waters within the sanctuary. The
Marine Operations Technician operates sanctuary vessels, conducts scuba
dive operations, and works to fabricate, install, repair and replace buoy
system components.
- *Location: *Key Largo
- *Advertised salary:* $45,000 - $55,000

*2. Position title: Research Project Manager - Coral Restoration (Florida
Keys)*
- *Job summary: *Mission: Iconic Reefs is an unprecedented, decades-long
approach to restore seven iconic coral reefs in FKNMS.The Research Project
Manager (aka MIR Implementation Manager) will coordinate, manage and track
all aspects of Mission: Iconic Reefs implementation including collaborating
with coral restoration practitioners and other external partners,
overseeing project progress, and analyzing metrics to ensure project goals
and objectives are being met. This position works as part of the Florida
Keys National Marine Sanctuary team in support of resource protection and
restoration goals in the sanctuary.
- *Location: *Florida Keys - Key Largo or Key West.
- *Advertised salary:* $80,000 - $85,000
