Dear collegues & friends,

Parallel to the problematic situation currently experienced in the
Caribbean territory of Venezuela with the XENIIDAE "Unomia stolonifera",
since the year 2018 two (2) new other octocorals invaders originating from
the Indo-Pacific region have been officially registered by researchers in
the broad coastline of Brazil (Northeast and Southeast sections), the Green
soft coral "Clavularia cf. viridis" and the Blue xenia or Blue soft coral
"Sansibia cf. flava", octocorals very widespread in the Aquarium branch,
where they are known in general as "soft corals".

Below is a "graphic map" illustrating the current situation regarding the
ongoing invasion of this exotic octocorals in the Brazilian coastline:

.......................................

The Neotropical region of our world has been an active target in recent
times, mainly through the active vector of the aquarium trade, of various
types of biological invasions, every to the immediate detriment of our
natural environment.
