Dear Coral-Listers,

The best way to stop a disease is to identify causes and stop them. The
open discussion about the causes of SCTLD epidemics started.

Here is the chance for Dr. William Precht to comment:
"We still know so little about this disease - but it is worth noting that
the (leaking) pipe of the CMD-WWTP on Virginia Key that dumps 150 million
gals treated wastewater per day into the Atlantic was only about 250m from
where the disease was first spotted".

On November 21, 2013, the PortMiami's Deep Dredge project entered a new
phase of the actual dredging* that will deepen the Port's main harbor
channel to a depth of -50 feet.

*My interpretation: The source of pollution and its influence were spread
with the Dredging project: Large scale removal of sediments extracted or
deposited some place else (Bottom impacted) causing suspended particles and
unstable silting that may be transported to other areas by large ships
(Ballast water) that may spread microbes...Epidemics are an unexpected,
often sudden, increase of a specific illness within a community or region
(e.g. Caribbean).

The good news is that there are plans for improvement about the Central
District Wastewater Treatment Plant (CDWWTP)

the Public Information of the projects).
