Dear colleagues and friends,

We would like to call your attention to a satellite meeting that we are
organizing within the frame of the 15th European Nitrogen Fixation
Conference (ENFC), which will be held August 31st - September 3rd 2023
in Naples, Italy.

The ENFC is a European based biennial congress that brings together
scientists investigating biological N2 fixation (BNF) from different
prospects (e.g. biochemistry, microbiology, ecology, plant physiology,
etc.).

The satellite meeting will further expand the focus of the main
conference towards the marine environment. Here below the key info but
please find more on the conference
website:https://www.enfc2023.org/index.php/marine-nitrogen

*From Land to Sea: Marine Nitrogen Fixing Symbioses*
Organizers: Ulisse Cardini, Rachel Foster, Marina Montresor, Maurizio
Ribera d’Alcalà, Alessandra Rogato
Where: Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, National Institute of Marine
Biology, Ecology and Biotechnology. Villa Comunale, Napoli, Italy (about
15 minutes walking distance from the Royal Continental Hotel, ENFC2023
venue)
When: 31st August 2023
Registration fee: Euro 40 (covering coffee break and lunch)

If you would like to attend the workshop, please register via the
conference website. Please note that it is possible to jointly register
for the main conference and the satellite meeting or for the satellite
meeting only. The programme will consist of short oral presentations and
posters that will be selected from submitted abstracts.

Session 1. Learning from land to interpret the sea: ecological and
evolutionary aspects of terrestrial N2 fixing symbiotic systems
Session 2. N2 fixing symbioses in benthic marine and freshwater organisms
Session 3. N2 fixing symbioses in planktonic marine and freshwater organisms

The sessions are open to molecular, physiological, biogeochemical and
modelling approaches, from ecosystems to cellular level.

*Deadline for abstract submission: 14th April 2023*

Hope to see you all at the event, and please spread the news!

Best,
Ulisse on behalf of all the organizers
