Dear Colleagues,

The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (CIMAR) is
seeking two full-time Technicians to join the field and research team for
Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument based at NOAA’s IRC in Honolulu,
Hawai‘i.

We are targeting candidates with bachelor’s degrees, excellent field
skills, and a passion for marine science and conservation. For the Field
Operations Technician, we are looking for someone with experience planning
and coordinating marine field operations as well as maintaining and
operating small boats with outboard engines. For the Marine Research
Technician, the candidate must be a certified SCUBA diver with scientific
diving experience. Both positions would support marine ecosystem research
and conservation efforts in the Monument, including projects focused on
coral reef ecosystems, maritime heritage, aquatic invasive species, marine
debris, and oceanographic conditions. As part of these efforts, these
positions would participate in 30-60 days a year of research expeditions.

Preference will be given to applicants with additional boat and SCUBA
skills, experience with ROVs and UASs, experience with data entry and
analysis, and at-sea field experience. We are looking for candidates with
strong organizational and communication skills who work well as part of a
team, but also have the ability to work independently. Individuals from
underrepresented groups in marine science are particularly encouraged
to apply to these early-career technician positions.

If you know of any strong candidates, please have them apply at Research
Corporation of the University of Hawaii
