[Coral-List] SCTLD spread by butterfly fish.

Hi all,

I agree with John’s statement below. What paper demonstrates that butterflyfish transmit SCTLD with their activities? Another possibility is that by feeding adjacent to lesions, C. capistratus could actually remove any putative pathogenic agents (or problematic tissues) and render them inert/inviable, thus slowing the spread of the disease at the patch level. Or butterflyfishes could have no effect on SCTLD spread.
