[Coral-List] Job Announcement: Dive Safety Officer / Project Scientist with CSA Ocean Sciences

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA) is a marine science and technical services
consulting firm that provides a broad range of environmental, coastal, and
oceanographic services in the U.S. and internationally.  We are seeking a
professional scientist to support CSA’s various market sectors and serve as
the company’s Dive Safety Officer (DSO). This person will be expected to
support customized, competitive, and high-quality services to industry,
government, and various private sector clients in a highly efficient manner
while also adhering to the robust internal standards for science,
operations, health and safety, quality, and professionalism. Applicants
should have completed a college or Master’s degree program in the life
sciences, such as marine sciences (marine biology, marine ecology,
biological oceanography, environmental chemistry, etc.), or a related field
and have DSO experience and/or certification. This position will be based
out of the Stuart, FL office.

*Position Summary:* In addition to administering all aspects of the
company’s AAUS compliant dive program, the successful applicant will
broadly support CSA projects including, but not limited to, field surveys
(including scientific diving and offshore deployments), data management and
analysis, and scientific reporting. The successful applicant must be
self-motivated and team-oriented, with strong communication and
organizational skills. This position requires periodic domestic and
international travel, often at short notice and on weekends, during all
times of the year, conducting either daytime and nighttime shifts if at
sea, and potentially for prolonged periods (several weeks).
