[Coral-List] Coral spawning observations Curacao September 2008

Dear All

This is an email with coral spawning observations from Curacao in the Southern Caribbean. Spawning was observed on September 20th and 21st where the latter was the most spectacular for all species.

10:00-10:30pm: Reticulated brittle stars (Ophionereis reticulata)
10:00-10:45pm: Mountainous star coral (Montastraea faveolata and M. annularis)
10:00-10:45pm: Great star coral; males (Montastraea cavernosa)
10:00-10:40pm: Blushing star coral; females (Stephanocoenia michelinii)
10:00-12:30pm: Smooth flower corals (Eusmilia fastigiata)
10:00-11:00pm: Red heart urchins (Meoma ventricosa)
10:30-11:00pm: Christmas tree worms (Spirobranchus giganteus)
11:30-12:30pm: Ruby brittle stars (Ophioderma rubicundum)
11:45-12:00pm: Symmetrical brain coral (Diploria strigosa)
