The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at University of
Miami not only offers PhD and MS Opportunities (

along with the Master of Professional Science (take the same courses as
Ph.D. and MS students, but instead of a thesis/dissertation, you do an
internship/research in the field with organizations such as NOAA, NPS,
NGOs, etc. and 94% of students have a job in the field 6 months after

Geological Sciences is concerned with Planet Earth, including; Earth’s
origin, structure and evolution, internal and surface processes, mineral
and natural resources, environmental preservation, natural hazards,

Marine Affairs is designed for students who wish to prepare themselves for
graduate studies and careers in marine policy, political ecology, marine
resource economics, management and conservation of marine resources,
environmental impact analysis, marine cultural resources, marine
anthropology, spatial planning, ocean and coastal law and policy.

Marine Biology is designed to give students a strong background in biology
and quantitative skills, as well as research experience in biomedicine,
genomics, evolution, physiology, microbiology, immunology, and ecology as
well as participate in research with diverse faculty.

The Meteorology degree is meant for students planning to continue with
graduate studies in atmospheric science, or for those who will pursue a
technical career in this area in government or private industry.

Marine Science is an interdisciplinary program dealing with the study of
the world’s oceans: their physical and biological constituents, the
