A short reminder of the abstract submission deadline for the 2020 Global Coral Reef Week virtual video conference.



Conference key dates:



June 1st: Deadline for abstract submission, please submit abstracts via this form https://forms.gle/6VFZReQ3f5kY6gAp9

June 8th (World Ocean Day): Authors of accepted abstracts are notified and provided instructions for video submission

June 26th: Deadline to submit video

July 1st-14th : Official Global Coral Reef Week Virtual Conference (active question/answer time window for submitted videos)

July 6th -8th : Streamed plenary talks with live question/answer session/Local in-person meetings (if appropriate due to pandemic)



We accept abstracts for recorded presentations/Science communication videos of 3-5 min or 12-15 min length and workshops related to coral reefs or adjacent ecosystems. During the conference the submitted videos be divided into the following sessions/topics:



·        Conservation, management, intervention, and restoration

·        Deep reef/deep sea

·        Ecology- population dynamics and connections within the ecosystem

·        Ecosystem functions and services

·        Human relations to the reefs- global and local impacts

·        Microbial ecology and holobionts

·        Novel methods and technology

·        Outreach and education

·        Physiology, adaptations and acclimation

·        Resilience and phase shifts



Participation in this virtual video conference is free and open for scientists, students and practitioners. Global Coral Reef Week is being organized by Chelsie Council, Judy Lang and Franziska Elmer with help of many local in-person meeting organizers.
