[Coral-List] Two Postdoctoral Marine Scholar Positions at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab

The Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium’s Dauphin Island Sea Lab is
soliciting applications for two Postdoctoral Marine Scholar positions in
marine ecology. The positions will be part of the Alabama Center of
Excellence (ALCoE), whose priorities are to 1) understand how complexity
enhances ecosystem resilience; 2) predict conditions under which ecosystem
restoration will succeed under future projected climatic regimes; 3)
identify early warning metrics of change, and 4) link local findings to a
global network considering similar priorities.

**Required Qualifications**

   - Doctoral Degree in Marine Science, Ecology, Environmental Science,
   Oceanography, Engineering, or closely related field.
   - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including
   experience communicating scientific findings to a broad audience.

**Preferred Qualifications**

   - Experience in landscape or ecosystem-level research.
   - Experience managing and analyzing large, diverse, data sets.
   - Experience with eDNA analysis.
   - Experience with ocean acidification experiments.
   - Desire to work with a broad spectrum of collaborators, managers, and
   stakeholders.
   - Experience with project management and ability to meet goals in a
   timely manner.
   - Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
   PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Google Workspace (Google Doc, Sheets, slides,
   Google Meet, etc).
   - The work will be performed in an office and outdoors, with outdoor
   work sometimes involving long field days (> 8 hours), exposure to extreme
   weather conditions (heat, rain, cold), and biting insects. The work
   requires physical exertion such as lifting or reaching to observe, collect,
   or record field data; or in some situations snorkeling or operating a boat.
   Heavy items (e.g., field gear up to 25 pounds) may require lifting on a
   routine basis.
   - Must possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator’s
   license for the type of vehicles and vessels operated to perform the duties
   of this position.
