Dear Coral-List,

I'd like to draw your attention to a recently published paper at Frontiers
in Marine Science entitled "Ecological traits influencing anthropogenic
debris ingestion by herbivorous reef fishes".

The paper can be accessed here: Frontiers | Ecological Traits Influencing
Anthropogenic Debris Ingestion by Herbivorous Reef Fishes | Marine Science
(frontiersin.org)
<https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmars.2021.717435/full>

Our work highlighted the vulnerability of herbivorous reef fishes to debris
ingestion. Yet, an already threatened species according to the Brazilian
red list was the most affected one with ingestion frequency reaching 100%
at one of the sampling locations. We believe that understanding these links
would improve conservation planning as species contamination could act as a
proxy for environmental pollution on marine habitats.

Sincerely,
Gabriel.
