[Coral-List] Seeking SCTLD treatment specialists

Good day,

The University of the Virgin Islands is currently seeking candidates for 4 open specialist positions within the Center for Marine and Environmental Studies on the St. Thomas campus.  The positions will be based on St. Thomas but all work will be focused within the National Park boundaries of St. John.  There are three levels of positions depending on qualifications.  These are all grant-funded one-year positions with the possibility of renewal dependent on additional funding.  Applications will be accepted until Oct 12, 2021. Coral Disease Treatment Specialist Level 1:  Two positions are open at this level. These positions will provide technical support for treatment of corals affected by stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD) in the St. John National Parks. Required qualifications include scientific diving qualifications (or equivalent) and boat handling experience. Experience treating SCTLD-affected corals preferred. Coral Disease Treatment Specialist Level 2: .  One position is open at this level. This position will provide technical support and data management leadership for SCTLD treatment activities in the St. John National Parks. Required qualifications include scientific diving qualifications (or equivalent) and experience, boat handling experience, experience with data management, and a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in marine science or related field. Coral Disease Treatment Specialist Level 3: One position is open at this level. This position is intended to participate in and lead the coordination and management of SCTLD treatment activities in the St. John National Parks. Required qualifications include scientific diving qualifications (or equivalent) and experience, boat handling experience, leadership and coordination experience, and a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in marine science or related field.
