Dear coral-list,

There is an opening in my lab for a 2-year postdoc position in coral eco-physiology and resistance to multiple climate change stressors. The candidate will be based at the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands.

The postdoctoral researcher will investigate how fluctuating environmental conditions alter coral resistance to heat, acidification and low-oxygen stress. You will conduct controlled aquarium experiments to simulate different variability regimes in combination with future ocean conditions, analyze seawater physico-chemical conditions and conduct coral physiological analyses. You will also conduct fieldwork in extreme/marginal coral reef environments in the Caribbean where corals are naturally exposed to extreme and variable conditions. The aim is to investigate whether such an environmental history is linked to enhanced stress tolerance. Finally, you will supervise BSc and MSc student projects that are aligned with the postdoc project, and communicate your results via conference presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals, while closely working with the project team.

Start date: spring 2023 but negotiable
Apply by: 11 December

Thanks,
Verena
