The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection is recruiting a full-time Environmental Consultant position assigned to assist the Resource Review section of the Beaches, Inlets and Ports Program.  The primary responsibility of this position is to evaluate the potential for adverse impacts to coastal ecosystems associated with a variety of coastal construction projects like beach nourishment, construction and remodeling of ports, etc. The work also involves review of monitoring reports related to such projects.  We are looking for hardbottom/coral reef PhD-level benthic ecologist with research experience. Diving experience is a requirement.  Location of work is in Tallahassee, Florida, but the projects are state-wide, and some traveling will be required for field inspections. US citizenship or permanent residency is required.
