coral mucus preservation

I wonder if anyone in the coral-list-community can help me with the following question:

What would be the best way to preserve "fresh" coral mucus under 
field work conditions (freezing possible) for further lab 
investigations back home?
I would very much appreciate any reply with hints, advices or your 
experiences asap!
